Our 9 Step Process: Covering the front door ....
- Remove all hardware lock hinges, strip down to raw wood
- Repair damaged areas
- Sand completely with 3 separate grits of sandpaper and metal brush
- Wash the door with solvent
- Stain with highly pigmented slow to fade "Gemini" stain (any color you want)
- Apply 4 coats of UV protected MARINE+25% BOAT VARNISH
- Reinstall all hardware locks and hinges with new vinyl door bottom
- Install the door
- Adjust the door and locks
Disclosure:
- All wood takes stain differently.
- Different shades of stain may show on a single door and this is not to be considered a defect.
- The final product depends on the quality of wood that is revealed after sanding it to bare wood.
